Editorial Reviews

Wow! I loved this book. However, it is difficult to say that you have enjoyed a story that is so painful & true. I’m thankful to the writer for opening our “Eye” to things that are never spoken about. I am Catholic (raised Baptist), & it was hard to know the history as it happened. These are things I never knew that Jews endured…& survived. I don’t know how their faith survived. This writer does so much research & incorporates the history lesson so seamlessly into the novel. You feel the characters’ pain. You really care about them. What more could you want from a book? Beautifully written.

Brilliant with visuals and characters so real you feel their heartache resonate off the page….Ms. Fine’s research and artful prose allow us to step into a piece of history that cannot be forgotten.

I admire people who can teach the past through novels. I didn’t know about the history of the Jews in Spain, Portugal, and South America. I like how Marcia used three or more people to tell the story including someone in present day who is also learning about the past along with the reader.
Marcia has obviously done an incredible amount of research and manages to fit the information into a readable format. A must read.
